Not Flesh, Not Blood — dark gothic Christian wall art, signal colorway, with Ephesians 6:12 KJV

Collection 01 · Signal · The Vigil

Not Flesh, Not Blood

A host of armed men riding toward something no sword reaches.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12 · King James Version, quoted verbatim

The Scene

Paul is writing to a church inside a garrison city, to people who knew what an army looked like, and he tells them the enemy is not the man across the field. The war is older and higher than the one anybody can see.

The plate gives you the column under a black sky, spears along the horizon, riding down into the valley. The light tearing open the cloud ahead of them is not a sunrise. It is the other combatant.
